Image Featured in Memoir Journal
I was contacted a while back by a print / web magazine for an image to be featured. I went along with it. I still own the rights to the image so no harm.. The permision wsa just for use with the magazine “issue” which was focusing on statues. take a look if you wish. they also sent me 3 copies of the print magazine as well. So I’ve got proof of publication. Money would have been nicer but. there’s a certain satisfaction that comes from being published and credited.
Onelove Jamaica Flickrites, the portland expedition
Today the onelove group on flickr had our “what we hope to be” monthly photo trip. The numberes turned out quite well and we had a blast. Apparently all the allegations about portland were absolutely true. It is the most untampered parish in the island of jamaica. Its just naturally Beautiful. There are waterfalls all over the place.. Loads of natural beauty. If your into landscape photography thats definitely the place to be. We were out of kingston by about 9 and on our way with a few stops at castleton and the St. George’s Anglican Church - Buff Bay, Portland then deeper into portland to quite a few waterfalls.
Took quite a bit of gear on this trip. Lighting included
we were able to use the lightstand with a strobe and the cactus poverty wizards to achieve a simple one light setup at one of the waterfalls where kappachino graced the waters as our model. Words can hardly explain the great time as well as the sights we saw however photos do.

Get it in writing first. Or shoot nothing and go home.
Take the professional approach. Dont turn your camera on until payment has been settled. Dont show up unless down payment has been settled. Do nothing unless you have a signed agreement. Because after taking photos of over a hundred pieces of jewels The client refuses to pay. It has nothing to do with how the photos look. Their just being cheap. be careful out there. its a dark dark world for an artist.
Here’s another shot from the same product shoot.

at the end of the day The client gets nothing. (not even promotion from my images, or word of mouth) and i have some product shots for my portfolio.

Product Photography Shoot 11/10/2008
Last Saturday I had a product shoot for a jewelry store . Though not my first product shoot I Was fairly nervous at first but contrary to the circumstances of last shoot of this nature i was fairly well prepared. the first mistake was leaving my tripod However that aside everything went well. I ended up with 3 assistants. Gobo Boy, Foam Core Boy and Kelly the Human Tripod.
The shoot lasted About 7 hours as there were crazy jewels (necklace’s and Bracelets). A mode session is planned for next moth. Boudoir + product photograhy = Sales? From the clients perspective yes and if thats what she wants thats what she gets. The concepts that were put in the air are very good though So keep an Eye out for those. Here’s a small peep of the results from the photoshoot.
Special thanks to Kelly Ho-Sang who helped in artistic direction and being my human tripod.

Canon Evolution Destined.
Canon teased the entire photography world today with their evolution destined microsite. The question on everybody’s mind is what is the resultant of the evolution. is it the 7d, is it a new 1D or maybe a 2D. The only thing I’ve been seeing in the rumor mills to tell the truth is the 5d Replacement , 7D, which i would think will not have a built in grip. However from the Evolution destined microsite that camera looks a little beefy (like its grip built in). only Time will tell.. or really really good spy pictures :D.
